INSPIRATION STATION ::: 6 December 2015

Hiya! Here´s your weekly roundup of some of our fave things filled with wonder and delight!

Rachel Jones

Rachel Jones

  • Special Special hero Francis Bebey!

  • A lot of people contact us to ask for advice about teaching yoga, especially when they are just starting out. The brilliant Jason Crandell and his partner Andrea made this great post collecting advice and tips from teachers over on their blog. We think it´s kind of relatable to “non yoga teaching real life stuff” too. And Dionne might have offered two pence (cents?) worth of tips.
  • Women talk to cats is exactly that. Sounds a little Finnish, no?

"Part of becoming an adult seems to be to embrace the painful realisation that grown ups don’t actually have all the answers – and therefore that we have every right, indeed a duty, to break certain rules and think things through independently. "

Space Man: Sun Ra

Space Man: Sun Ra

  • Gilles Peterson has compiled a new great introduction to space is the place hero Sun Ra. A current favourite on the CTM stereo. Read and listen and watch here.
"When I'm talking to people, I find myself quoting the three organizing rules of Black Lives Matter. Black Lives Matter was initiated by three young women, and too few people know that. But, anyway, the first one is lead with love. The second is low ego, high impact. The third is move with the speed of trust. I must say those make me feel very hopeful for the future."

  • Everybody needs time off. If you´re resistant, or a long suffering avoider of time off (we feel you), read this.

  • Seasonal stuff getting you down? Chill out with this sweet video of a bird taking a bath in a sink (more interesting than it sounds)

  • Watching Cuffs (because, Brighton)

  • Brasilian author Clarice Lispector is a current favourite read, and especially the dreamy novel Agua Viva. Explore more about Clarice here, and see an interview with English subs below.

  • Best advice:
love,
stop trying to figure out everything at once.
stop trying to write about everything
at once.
arrive to yourself
in increments.
